Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 27 February 2026
The Duke Leamington Spa is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following features to improve accessibility:
- Semantic HTML — proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and structural elements for screen reader compatibility
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are accessible via keyboard with visible focus indicators
- Skip to content — a skip navigation link allows keyboard users to bypass the header and jump to main content
- ARIA labels — meaningful labels on interactive elements including navigation, buttons, and form fields
- Colour contrast — text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements
- Responsive design — the site is fully usable across mobile, tablet, and desktop screen sizes
- Alt text — all images include descriptive alternative text
- Minimum tap targets — all interactive elements meet the recommended 44x44px minimum touch target size
- Reduced motion — animations respect the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting where applicable
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Google Maps embed — the embedded map is provided by Google and may have its own accessibility limitations outside our control
- Third-party reviews — customer reviews loaded from Google Places may not meet all accessibility standards
