Fuse Board & Consumer Unit Upgrades
Consumer unit replacement
Replace your outdated fuse board with a modern consumer unit featuring full RCD protection. Keep your home safe and compliant with current regulations.
Why Upgrade Your Fuse Board?
Older fuse boards with rewirable fuses or cartridge fuses cannot react fast enough to protect against electric shock. A modern consumer unit with RCDs (Residual Current Devices) disconnects the supply within milliseconds of detecting a fault.
- RCD protection against electric shock
- MCB circuit breakers for overload protection
- Surge protection to safeguard electronics
- Metal enclosure for added fire resistance
What's Involved?
A consumer unit upgrade typically takes a full day. We isolate the supply, remove the old board, install the new unit, and test every circuit. Power is usually off for four to six hours. We'll agree a convenient date and ensure you know what to expect.
Regulations & Certification
Consumer unit replacements are notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. As NAPIT-registered electricians, we notify your local authority on your behalf and issue a full Electrical Installation Certificate on completion.
- Part P notification included
- Electrical Installation Certificate issued
- All work guaranteed
